Dre and Snoop Dogg in Cannes, France

It was a West Coast reunion overseas when Dr. Dre met up with Snoop Dogg in Cannes, France. The hip-hop veterans, along with Warren G, kicked it at Gotha nightclub for Snoop’s concert presented by Beats by Dr. Dre. Tha Doggfather surprised guests when he brought out a buff Dre to share the stage with him on their Cali classics. Envy the lucky partygoers by peeping the rest of the pics.

  9. In Cannes at the moment touring, there's Dre, Snoop, Warren G, Soopafly, The Game & Tha Dogg Pound...

DO SOME DAMN RECORDING! That's a classic lineup right there for an album!

    Shmosh.

  10. R.E.D. is coming in late August, there's already a single out for it and it's a confirmed release date. I thought it'd never see the day until Detox was put out but there it is... keep up with the times.

  11. It'll be an album, albeit probably a dope one that will end up being a classic like 2001, but it's still an album that wasn't nearly worth all the wait, hype, and frustration over it. I don't think any album Dre puts his name on at this point can definitively be called "worth the wait" if you've been waiting and watching for it 7+ years like I have, especially since he's just been buying beats instead of making them. It'll be more like a compilation of the best WC hip-hop records and collaborations edited by Dr. Dre.

  12. i just hope he makes it a double album or something... at least put some content from the 3+ albums that he has scrapped when he was trying to make detox.

  13. It's super doubtful he'll ever put out any double album simply because Dre is way too much of a perfectionist to handle that much content to be satisfied with it. Dre makes cohesive albums that act as one entire body of work, not albums peppered with just a few singles and filler; Detox is one big puzzle where every piece has to be tweaked and fit to perfection at the same time portraying a picture that's perfection. Beyond the fact Bishop and Slim pointed out it'll be 12-13 tracks (representing the 12 Steps of rehab to fit the detox theme), Dre has enough trouble even finishing one song that he sticks to. Putting 20+ songs in one album like Detox is impossible for him. He's had enough trouble finishing a single album if he's scrapped it a few times and taken a decade. For all we know he may have started over a while ago and is still not even halfway finished if he even sticks to it. It may be more than 12-13 records but personally I wouldn't bet on it going by what we know about it.

The best you can hope for is that this official Detox mixtape sees the light of day because if it ever does get put out, you know Detox is right around the corner. Everyone knows Dre has thousands of records in the vault that nobody will ever hear even if they're hot, but Dre being Dre, he won't share them for the fans or anyone else. It's just the way he is and the way he's been.

  16. Maybe off the topic but does anyone believe we will see Detox by the end of the year all we have for 2011 so far is a minute 1/2 snippet {die hard) Kush and INAD were 2010 doesnt look too promisingh is it going to be another year of anticipointment

  17. HMV has no idea when Detox is coming out and their dates are arbitrary and fake to get suckers to preorder it from their website. Can we stop going by random European record stores and instead go by actual sources? They're not going to know the date of Detox more than any American store, Interscope, Aftermath, and Dr. Dre himself.

If there's no hint of Detox or the mixtape by September I doubt we'll see it at the end of the year. The only glimmer of hope is that Dre tends to release his shit in the 4th quarter but if we hear nothing by Fall I really doubt it's coming. An album like Detox is a golden egg for Interscope and I imagine after such a long investment waiting for Dre to put it out, they're going to want to market the shit out of it and have a hot lead single to sell copies. It's not coming without either of those first or a confirmation from Dre himself.
